RALEIGH, NC – Advance Community Health today announced its official rebrand as Amplify Health, marking a transformative milestone in the organization's 54-year history. The new name and brand identity reflect the organization's remarkable growth, expanded capabilities, and bold vision to amplify the health of individuals and communities across Wake and Franklin counties.
Founded in 1972 as Wake Health Services, the organization has evolved from a single health center on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh into one of the region's leading nonprofit healthcare organizations. Today, Amplify Health operates 14 locations and delivers comprehensive, integrated care through primary care, behavioral health, dental services, pharmacy, urgent care, OB/GYN, nutrition services, care management, and other specialty programs designed to improve health at every stage of life.
The rebrand comes at a defining moment for the organization. Over the past decade, Amplify Health has significantly expanded its geographic footprint, introduced new models of care, strengthened strategic partnerships, and pursued innovative business opportunities including acquisitions and Professional Services Agreements, to increase access to high-quality healthcare throughout the region.
As healthcare continues to evolve, so has the organization. Today's patients expect coordinated, technology-enabled, whole-person care that is accessible, convenient, and responsive to their changing needs. The transition to Amplify Health reflects an organization that has grown well beyond its original identity and is prepared to lead the next generation of community-focused healthcare.
WHY AMPLIFY HEALTH
The name Amplify Health was chosen to reflect the organization's belief that great care, when delivered with consistency, compassion, and clinical excellence, has the power to amplify the health, strength, and potential of the communities it serves. It signals forward momentum without abandoning the legacy that made the organization what it is today.
"This rebrand is an act of innovation, fearlessness, and historic change for this organization. Amplify Health is not a departure from our mission, it is its clearest expression yet,” said Scot McCray, Chief Executive Officer, Amplify Health.
While the organization's name and visual identity are changing, its mission remains unchanged. Patients will continue receiving care from the same trusted providers and care teams at all existing locations across Wake and Franklin counties.
A LEGACY BUILT ON GROWTH
Approximately 15 years ago, increased federal investment enabled the organization to accelerate its expansion by opening new locations, launching chronic disease management programs, and deepening its focus on the social drivers of health. That period of growth led to the organization's first rebrand, from Wake Health Services to Advance Community Health.
In 2021, Scot McCray joined as CEO with a vision for greater organizational clarity, cultural cohesion, and long-term sustainability. Over the five years that followed, the organization expanded service lines, strengthened its workforce, increased strategic partnerships, pursued innovative business ventures, enhanced the patient experience through new technologies, and built the organizational culture that now defines Amplify Health.
"After 54 years, this is far more than a new name," McCray said. "It is a reflection of who we are today and a declaration of where we're going tomorrow. We are amplifying access to care. We are amplifying innovation. We are amplifying opportunities for healthier lives. Most importantly, we are amplifying health."
Patients can expect the same trusted providers, the same commitment to compassionate, high-quality care, and the same mission that has guided the organization for more than five decades, now represented by a name that reflects its vision for the future.
